Avan Jogia and Dove Cameron star in the new sexy, psychological thriller 56 Days

The project is based on the bestselling novel 56 Days by Irish crime writer Catherine Ryan Howard — a tense, high-concept thriller that turns a pandemic love story into something far more sinister.

Set in Dublin at the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown, the story follows Oliver and Ciara, who meet, connect instantly, and decide to move in together sooner than either of them planned. What begins as a spontaneous, almost cinematic romance soon becomes a study in isolation and uncertainty. With the world shut down and social circles reduced to a single shared space, the apartment becomes both sanctuary and trap.

The narrative unfolds across multiple timelines — counting down to the discovery of a decomposing body in the couple’s home. From the very first pages, the reader knows someone is dead. The question is not what happened, but how and why. As secrets surface and perspectives shift, the story carefully dismantles the illusion of intimacy, revealing how easily desire can blur judgment.

Blending romantic drama with psychological suspense, 56 Days explores themes of trust, identity, and the risks of accelerated intimacy in extraordinary circumstances. The adaptation, developed for Amazon Prime Video, aims to preserve the novel’s claustrophobic tension while expanding its emotional depth for the screen.

At its core, 56 Days is not simply a mystery about a body in an apartment. It is a story about how quickly we can let someone into our lives — and how little we may truly know about them.
